Thomas Pütter is Chairman and Chief Executive of Ancora Finance Group who is engaged in a number of activities in the consulting and alternative asset investment spheres. Furthermore, Thomas holds board and advisory positions with a number of companies in both the private and public sector.
Thomas was Chairman of Allianz Capital Partners (Allianz Group’s Entity for Alternative Asset Investing) until July of 2010. From 1998 – 2009 he worked as Chief Executive of Allianz Capital Partners Group. From 2006 – 2009 Thomas worked as Managing Director of Allianz Alternative Assets Holding GmbH.
Prior to joining Allianz, he was Executive Director, Goldman Sachs International, London from 1992-1998 and Chief Financial Officer of the Matuschka Group, from 1988-1992. Prior to Matuschka and starting in 1980 Thomas held positions in investment banking and international and corporate banking.
Between 2005 and 2009 Thomas was member of the Commission on Growth and Innovation of the German CDU’s Economic Council. In 2006 Thomas participated as an observer in the EU Commission’s Alternative Investment Funds Expert Group culminating in its report published in July 2006.
Between 2001 and 2007 he served first as a member of the board and then as Chairman of the German Private Equity and Venture Capital Association e.V. (BVK). Since then he is a member of the BVK’s Advisory Board.
Between 2007 and 2009 Thomas was a member of the Advisory Board for Environmental Technology of the German Ministry of the Environment.
Thomas studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at The Queen’s College, Oxford.
